Holidays 2005 : Christmas and New Years 2005-2006 at our house. Besides myself, Doris, her Mom Sarita, and Grandmother Mama Queta, we had seven houseguests this year for christmas. They were our nieces Ariadne Fernandez, her husband Eduardo Rosales, and their daughters Ariadne and Dafni, and Ariadni's sister Rosa Maria Fernandez and her husband Juan Carlos Garcia, and their son Juan Carlos Jr. It is not unusual for mothers to give their daughters the same name as their own in Mexico. Mexican women do not use their husbands surname after marriage, although it is appended to their last name if they have to give, or sign their "appellido", or full name, but not if they must sign something with their "firma", or regular signature. We had more guests from Vera Cruz later in the week. On Friday the 30th, Hugo, his wife Sonia, and their three kids, Israel, Danna, and Carla came with Isidro Christo and his wife Leticia (Lety), and their son Isidro Jr. They stayed for just the day. Hugo, Sonia and Isidro were college classmates of Doris' late brother, René, they are like family now. For New Years we invited Doris' primo (cousin) Mauricio and his wife Guille and their son Mauri (Mauricio Jr.) and daughter Sali-ha to visit us from their home in Puebla. Christmas and New years dinners are eaten late at night on Christmas, and New Years eve in Mexico.

Navidad en México 2005 : These photos were taken at Saritas house in México City during the Christmas Holidays 2005 and sent to me by my good friend and Doris' uncle, Chava Ledesma. Chava had traveled from his home in Phoenix, Arizona to visit his family at Christmas. Most of the people in these pictures are related to Doris. Doris told me when we were first married that if I wanted to meet her whole family, we would need to rent a stadium. I don't think there is a stadium in México big enough to hold the entire family.

Chavo's house : A few pictures of my cuñado Chavo's new house in Tacoma, Washington. Chavo (Salvador) is Doris' brother. It is a four bedroom, 2 1/2 bath house with living, and family rooms. It is in a very nice gated nieghborhood, The long driveway is very nice and provides a lot of privacy.
